Big Sky 11s - Seedings and Pool Allocations

Well the teams have been formed (mostly), the great minds have collaborated, and pool rankings have been released:

SEEDING & POOLS
Pool A
Pool B
TOWN
Stacys AllStars (SAS)
Value Pack
SLAM
Mind The Gap (MtG)
Doppelrangers
Heroes
Trevor Gets Skyed
UQ
Flatballers
Cougars
Starlight

As far as this blogger can figure, going by the pool-forming-methods for most tournaments, the overall seedings (though unannounced) are most likely to have been:
  1. Stacys All Stars
  2. TOWN
  3. Value Pack
  4. SLAM
  5. Doppelrangers
  6. Mind the Gap
  7. Heroes
  8. Trevor Gets Skyed
  9. Flatballers
  10. UQ
  11. Cougars
  12. Starlight
Although it's possible they could have been:
  1. TOWN
  2. Stacys All Stars
  3. SLAM
  4. Value Pack
  5. Mind the Gap
  6. Doppelrangers
  7. Trevor Gets Skyed
  8. Heroes
  9. UQ
  10. Flatballers
  11. Starlight
  12. Cougars
The other thing to be clear of is the game length this year: 45 minutes.
This is to allow 12 teams to all play  round-robin-style, a BBQ, a Final, and dinner/drinks/raffle afterwards.

Teams will have to gel quickly and stay warm between games, as there is unlikely to be enough time to make up early deficits - those who come out firing are going to be hard to beat.

I'm not going to make a full list of my own rankings, only the following points:
  1. The first set of possible rankings are much more likely, having 3-time-winners(?) Stacy's All Stars on top, and Brisbane beginner team Starlight down the bottom. That being said;
  2. Heroes are very highly ranked, given many of the players will not be from the club's all-conquering mixed nats team. Putting them above teams like Trevor Gets Skyed, UQ, and the Flatballers (and even the Cougars, given some of their pickups) is quite optimistic. That being said, if they can make use of the pre-established connections their club is so well-known for, they may be able to be one of those clubs who comes out firing early on, and post a few victories to make their seeding.
  3. Tipping a final of Stacy's All Stars (no duh) and TOWN (only because SAS will have already beaten SLAM in the pool games).
  4. Unless Mr. Neild makes a surprise appearance on the day, I'm tipping TOWN to be the first non-SAS team in memory to take out the day! Simply too much firepower to tip against them.
